My fall felted slipper class will be offered to all knitters from advanced beginners on up.  Wednesdays Oct 14th, 21st, and 28th.  You choose either mornings from 9-10 or afternoons from 3-4.

Very fun class!  The kids had so much fun.  My next felted soap class will be at Nanette's Knits and Gifts on Monday August 17th at 10:00.  Cost of class is $5 plus materials which is hand made soap and roving of all colors.  Please call 906.364.4752 and reserve your spot!  Ages 5 and up.  Children younger will need a parents to help.

Our next Boot Camp for beginner knitters will be Thursday April 16 from 2:00-4:00.  $20 with materials provided. 
Also Fresia and I will be having another sampler stitch class on Thursday April 23rd rom 2:00-4:00.  Cost of this class is $20.  Materials needed is one skein of cotton yarn and size 6,7, 8 or 9 needles. Sign up at the shop or call 906.364.4752.
Just a note to add:  Our May Boot Camp will be held on Saturday May 23rd from 2:00-4:00 for those that work during the week.  Not too early to sign up for that one as well.  Hope to see you soon!  :)

Skills learned:  Provisional cast on, knitting in the round, changing colors, crowning a hat with 4 double pointed needles.
Materials needed:  16" circular needle size #7, 4 double pointed needles size #7, 2 skeins of worsted yarn, tapestry needle, marker.

This felted slipper class was great fun and we all learned so much!  The best part is we are all wearing them and our feet are toasty warm!

We all had a fun time making our felted soaps!  Everyone chose a different color and design.  Nanette's Knits and Gifts will have this class again next summer. :)
We had a great time with our felted slipper class.  We learned several lessons in this class. jWe learned knitting in the round, sewing leather on the soles with the blanket stitch, and also to needle felt.  Fun!

Are you ready for some summer classes?  I sure am!  My first class will start Wednesday, July 2 at 9:30-10:30.  We will be knitting up some felted slippers!  This is the
most fun of all classes...It involves knitting up the slippers on a circular needle, so no seams to worry about..then we will wet felt the slippers in your top loading washing machine until they are the size you desire, then we will sew a leather bottom on them, and last, but not least, we will needle felt a design of your choice on your slippers...this class will take about 4 times of meeting (Wednesdays) before they are completed.  The cost of the class is $35 plus materials.  If you have a 16" circular needle size 13, please bring it.  Also if you'd like to stop over and choose your yarn and get the pattern beforehand, that would be fine.  I can take 6 students.  Thanks!

Hi there!  Well, it's back to school for this girl starting September 3rd  :(   I had so much fun this summer, I hate to see it end.  The good news is, I hired two wonderful and crafty people.  Cindy Guzman,  Winchester, is a fantastic knitter, crocheter and now needle felter.  She will be offering classes in all of the above!  Also newly hired is Leigh Dabb, Ironwood.  She is an amazing crocheter and is also offering to teach crocheting during store hours as well.  Stop in and say 'Hi!!' to these gals.  I am very forturnate to have found such talent to take care of my shop until I return full time in February.  In the meantime, I will still be working at the shop from 4-5:00 and all Saturdays and holidays (oh, and snow days too!) Hope to see you soon!  New fall hours will be from 10:00-5:00.  Nanette

We had so much fun felting soap today!  It was a great success!   Everyone's soap turned out perfectly and we did a great job.  Lots of different colors and scents.  The adults had fun too.

A summer class for kids!  Your children can felt their own soap.  Using home made natural soaps, anti fungal wool  which protects and lengthens the life of your soap, eliminates the need for washcloths and it's a natural exfoliate, Ages 4 and up, mom's are encouraged to help the little ones.  Class is $5 plus soap and wool roving of your child's choice.  It'll be fun in the sun as this class will be outside!  July 22nd at 9:30 a.m.  (906) 364-4752.  Adults are welcome too!

Hi there fellow knitters and crocheters!  
I have 2 classes starting up ... Monday July 8th, from 6-8 pm I am having a class on how to knit cables on a hat.  There are two types of cables on this particular hat.   It is a fun hat to knit.  I will take pictures of two hats I knitted from this pattern.  One is from my alpaca "Lanette Purl" and the other is from Brown's Sheep wool ... I will take pictures and post them tomorrow.  The class is $20 and will run two Monday nights, both from 6-8 pm.  I will discount your materials 10%.  I can take 6 students.  There are 3 spots left.

The other class will begin Monday July 29th.  This class will be a large knit felted bag with at least 3 pockets. (I may add a cell phone pocket inside mine)  This will run 4 weeks, all of which will be on Monday nights from 6-8 pm.  This class will be $35.00 with 10% off materials.  You will learn the art of felting wool as well as needle felting designs after the bag has been felted.  You will have the option of adding a leather bottom, after the purse  has been completed.  I can take 6 students in this class, so again you will need to call and reserve a spot.  (906) 364-4752   I will post a picture of this project as well.

Hello everyone!  Nanette's Knits and Gifts is offering two classes starting Monday April 15th from 6-8..This Monday class will teach you how to make a pair of socks.  You will need to be at least an advanced beginner to take this class.  Cost is $35.00 with 10% off materials.   It will be held every Monday until your socks are finished.  Skills you will learn are knitting on 4 needles, ribbing, turning the heel and closing the toe with the Kitchener Stitch.  Please call (906) 364-4752 to enroll in this class..I can take six students.

The other class will be held on Thursday evenings from 6-8 starting April 18th.  This class will be teaching you how to make a market bag/tote out of linen.  Each knitter enrolled should be at the intermediate level of knitting.  Cost for this class will be $20.00 with 10% off materials.  It will be held every Thursday until your tote is finished.  Skills you will learn are knitting in the round, knitting a knotted lace stitch.  The pattern for this tote is a free pattern called "Linen Concerto Knit Tote" F463 if you'd like to download it and see what it looks like.  It will be a perfect spring/summer project!  Please call (906) 364-4752
